Job Summary

The Licensing Department is responsible for ensuring the effective management of all producer lifecycle processes. The Licensing Administrator will lead the department to implement and manage all appointments, renewals, and terminations of agents. This role is also responsible for reviewing and establishing effective agency hierarchies and for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. As the department transitions to a fully automated, on the cloud, agent management system, the Licensing Administrator will be responsible for the effective implementation, transition to, and management of the new system.

Essential Functions

  • Administer all aspects of the producer lifecycle to include appointments, terminations, and sale of agencies, commissions, and other key aspects of the agent management processes.
  • Maintain and enter agent data in the applicable systems and ensure correctness of same across all applicable databases.
  • Respond to inquiries from audits and other internal control departments.
  • Establish and maintain and efficient hierarchy system.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Familiar with and capable of developing and implementing best practices and quality controls.
  • Work with senior management and cooperate in interdepartmental projects.
  • Draft and maintain written procedures.
  • Use modern technology to include databases to administer all departmental functions.
  • Communicate with IT departments to ensure proper data exchanges.
  • Develop and prepare reports.
  • Answer internal or external questions on matters handled by the department.
  • Correspond with agents as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and licensing databases (Vertafore, Vue, etc.)
  • Ability to perform research using online resources
  • Familiarity with Department of Insurance websites and NIPR
  • Ability to maintain electronic databases and to manage the department using modern technologies
  • Communication skills to include the ability to summarize complex projects to higher management
  • Ability to communicate in writing and produce written reports and summaries
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in person and using modern applications (such as teleconferences, desktop sharing, instant messages) with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Licensing matters to include best practices, agent contracts, background searches, agent data management,
  • Prior active involvement in SILA preferred
